It's time for some fresh images.
Do you plan from start to finish for the perfect session? Or do you work backward to create what you want?
Let's take a quick look at what typically happens.
You choose a photographer.
Plan the best day and time.
Choose the perfect outfit for everyone.
Anticipate your new photos.
Share on social media for your friends and family to engage with.
Fun, but you notice the images that you worked and planned so hard for are seen less and less, replaced by cute puppy videos. A funny meme you were tagged in takes the lead in engagement on your newsfeed, and you have to keep scrolling to find the latest images of you and your family.
Like most of us (photographers included), you had no idea what you would do with your new images when you booked a session. They are still on a hard drive, or we endlessly scroll to find the photos we love on our phones. What if there was life for your images beyond just sharing on social media?
What if having AMAZING wall decor and STATEMENT pieces that evoked emotion into your home were incredibly simple? What if we started with a plan but instead, plan to approach your session in reverse? Backward. Think about how you want to feel when you look at your images and how you want them to become part of your home. In this mindset, you can start thinking backward and together with your photographer create on a whole new level!
I hope you join me on the blog this week as we share some of our favorite ideas and ways to approach your session so you can give your images the attention they deserve. Create something that makes you feel joy every time you walk by. Create something that makes you smile. Go beyond sharing and create yourself some art!
Come back on July 24th for Day 2: How to Plan Backward
